There is always something going on at Twin Creeks.  Come back often to hear the latest.

First Foal of 2010....Filly....Meinse x Anton May 22, 2010

After much anticipation,  and about two weeks of sleepless nights, watching the monitor....Lyra foaled on Saturday afternoon.  Unremarkable birth, no complications...beautiful Meinse filly.  No name yet...She was remarkably quick to stand and nurse.  Vet check assures us she is fine, and she and Mom are hanging out, waiting for this winter weather to go away.

While she was being born,  all the other horses lined up at the fence.  They are far enough away to not be able to see, but they know what is going on.  After she was totally out of mom, she whinnied...and all the rest of the herd whinnied back.  They are so amazing.

Cally Matherly visits! Feb 21, 2010

We had the distinct pleasure of having Noted Friesian photographer, Cally Matherly spend a night with us on our way to the stallion testing in Hanford.  It was a rainy gloomy day, but she insisted on going out for a bit to shoot some pictures of our muddy horses.  I will put some of them up pretty quick.

Stallion Show in Leeuwarden a big sucess Jan 17, 2010

We had a wonderful time in the NL for the 2010 stallion show despite the snow and very cold weather.  The country is apparently not used to lots of snow and it caused major road issues.  We were hampered a bit in our desire to visit farms.  If they were not on a main road, it was like driving thru a snow field.  But it was a great adventure!  We really were not stopped from going out, and had a wonderful time.

Fhana Board Elections Jan 1, 2010

I am running for the FHANA Board of Directors this year. I am currently the president and was the treasurer last year.  My term is up in February, and there are still many things that are not finished.  Our current board works well together, and has accomplished much in the past two years.  We have brought continuity to the office and staff, put on two sucessful shows..on both sides of the country, implemented a new computer system and website that is both beautiful and user friendly.  We are entering the third year that Stallion testing has occured in the USA.  Our relations with the KFPS have never been better.  We have taken over much more of the administrative work from their office, so our members receive their papers in record time.

My husband Richard and I have a small foal raising operation in Northern California.  We do not breed unapproved stallions, broker horses,  own an approved stallion, or make our living from our horses.   We support the KFPS breeding goals,  and strive to improve the KFPS Friesian horse within those goals.   I would appreciate your vote...and am available to answer any questions you may have.  thank you....Beth Sharp  esharp@fhana.com

Reno Show a Huge Sucess! Oct 10, 2009

The FHANA 25th Anniversary Convention held in Reno NV in Oct 2009 was a huge sucess.   Much thanks to Scott Kelnhofer for heading up the committee that took on this task.. We had more horses, more people, more approved stallions in one place than has ever happened with Friesians in the USA.  Our volunteers are fabulous and we cannot thank them enough.

Inga Makes Model at Reno Anniversary Show Oct 9, 2009

Inga,  our mare Sebeline's daughter from Anton 343 Sport,  made KFPS Model at the Anniversary Celebration Show in Reno Nevada, in October 2009.  She has been a first premium mare every time she was presented, has an 84.6 IBOP score,  still the highest score in the USA; and as Friesian Judge Fetze Veldsta said, " She has met all the criteria to become KFPS Model, she only needed to be old enough".
